Graduate Civil / Structural Engineer
SDS design engineers specialise in building design and engineering with expertise in geotechnical, water and civil & structural engineering. We have 50 employees working in Ireland and Spain. We are recruiting Graduate Civil/Structural Engineers for our office in Castlebar, Co. Mayo.
Job Description
- Draft and prepare drawings, designs and diagrams
- Develop design ideas and structural design calculations
- Communicate with engineers/architects when preparing drawings/designs
- Calculate dimensions and allowances with accurate precision
- Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes and enhancements
- Willingness and responsive to the demands and coordination of other design team professionals, clients and contractors
- Liaise with external consultants and clients
- Periodically to visit sites and take measurements
- Perform other job related duties as required
Qualifications/Experience
- Degree in civil or structural engineering
- Ideally you will have gained experience working on a wide range of projects during your college placement
- You must also have a working knowledge of the current Irish Building Regulations and a working knowledge of British and Eurocode Design Standards for Concrete, Steel, Masonry and Timber
- You must be experienced in the use of AutoCAD/Revit and be capable of preparing detailed technical designs & drawings
- Experience in the use of Robot, Staad PRO-QSE or similar is essential
- Be able to prioritise, work to tight deadlines and deliver projects on time
- Excellent written and verbal communication (fluent in English)
- Self motivated with great attention to detail and ability to research a subject
